SUMMARY:
Season that saw Olympique Marseille reach the 1999 UEFA Cup final, unfortunately to suffer a 3-0 defeat to Parma. The road to final did see victories over domestic rivals Monaco as well as Celta Vigo, Bologna and Werder Bremen. Marseille lost the league by a single point to Bordeaux with many claims that PSG allowed Bordeaux to score the league-winning goal on the final day to spite their arch-rivals.
